For the FMQ or meandering, when I do it, I start at the top left and work to the far right dropping down to the next row so to speak, not really stopping but carrying it on. That goes from the right working to the left. That drops down to the 3rd row, working back to the right. Just think of the shape of jigsaw puzzle pieces, not really showing where you start or stop. This is pretty much how I do mine, only difference is that I kinda do my "rows" or "areas", as someone else put it in arcs kinda like the rainbow and just work each new "row" or "area" into the previous one so you can't really tell one from the other. "Blending" I find to be a good description. Hope this helps.
