You can use a bedsheet for the backing also. This will depend on whether the quilt is going to be larger than the bedsheet or not. You can use a queen size bedsheet for a regular size quilt, as this will give you extra material around the quilt as you are quilting it. You can also use a king size sheet for the queen size quilt. I got this from another quilter's message board, the woman suggested that you can get wide backing fabric at www.fabricdepot.com. She said that you can usually get the wide backing at 30% off online.
