We eat quite frequently at our church on Sundays. I have to be there at 9:15 for choir practice before Sunday School and our worship service. On these occasions, I make something in my crock-pot. It is always nice and hot and everyone appreciates that. Congealed salad is always good if you have a refrigerator. Hot or cold items carried to church in one of the many insulated carriers on the market are usually sufficient to keep items at a reasonable temperature. One of the dishes I do in the crock-pot for church that everyone loves is just smoked sausage or kielbasa with BBQ sauce poured over it. I like to use Country Bob's sauce which I buy at Walmart. Men especially like this dish. You can fry the sausage before putting it in the crock-pot or not. It doesn't seem to make a difference one way or the other. Hope this helps.
