Was in Joann today, they have "remerchandised" fabric I bought three months ago and I'm pretty sure they raised the price - glad I bought a lot of my stash earlier this year.
I also will be using more online in-my-pj's buying. When the LQS's aren't making their volumes, the prices will have to drop. The cotton crop argument is temporary, the only reason prices go up in a recession is to cover for the people who aren't buying. Prices on everything should be coming down. Since they aren't, retailers are holding on so that their higher prices now look like the new standard price later.
What concerns me these days is quality product. Joann changed their supplier of FQ's and I'm not jazzed.
I started holding on to old clothes years ago, glad I did.
