At one of the best shops in FL.(my opinion), Rainbow's End in Dunedin FL., they even have a guy working there. He stocks, cuts fabric and is a quilter. He's very knowledgeable about the industry. I think it's fantastic that we have men that want to quilt and they're every bit as good as a woman, some are Better. I'm not gender biased in any way and firmly believe to each his own in everything. I don't think that I would have been welcome with my opinions in earlier years.
My local Joann's has started hiring guys to the stocking and checkout staff. Have not had to test their knowledge yet, but one told me they do go through a training course. I'll let you know how it goes.
