You didn't tell me about this, but I totally understand. It doesn't happen often anymore, but when the field was behind our house, we got skunked at least once a week. The swamp cooler seemed to suck that smell right into the house. Back then, it was cheaper to run the swamp cooler than the AC. But those nights, we ran the AC because that smell seems to permiate everything. It is hard to get rid of too.
You are lucky it doesn't happen more often.
