I made a baby quilt, and asked for some info....not so much "what color do you like" but more like, what kind of feeling do you want it to have, and some other things. When I sent it, it was a surprise (she hadn't seen a pic yet) and she was wowed when she opened the package, but then weeks later she went out of her way to tell me that "it was just what I wanted, I just didn't know it yet!" And I knew what she meant. I asked the right questions, and hit the nail on the head!
