I didn't realize that a state could have two types of official flowers.

I must admit... Indian Blankets are a whole lot more showy than mistletoe!
I used to live in OK and the state does have a lot of things designated as "state XXX". Each state has its' own list of what they recognize...so having a flower and a wildflower is not unusual. Alaska and a few others have state insects, etc. Getting something recognized as a "state xxx" is simply a matter of getting a legislator to nominate it and the majority of folks to agree to it.
