Thanks!!! I might just take the fabric and the little wheel up with me and see if Joann's up there has the ironing board fabric and put some of that on first. I can cut my fabric and have it ready to put on when I get the silver fabric. thanks for your suggestion too, lots2do. I appreciate all the help I'm getting now. Rather than trying to wash my old board AGAIN, I might just cover it too. It can be my 'at home grunge board' and the new one, since I've already gotten it (at Joann's with a coupon, no less) can be my 'take to class' one.
