I had a Brother Ult 2001 which had lots and lots and lots of plastic parts--in 2 years I had worn it out! I had it into the shop many times and the plastic parts just were breaking and wearing out. So my wonderful Dad bought me a Bernina 200 and it is wonderful. Of course there was a big price difference between the two but Bernina is the machine for me! I would just say since these are older machines "BEWARE of plastic parts." Sue
