At long last, but I made a big mistake when measuring up for this quilt. I made it to go on a single bed and instead of measuring the length of the bed properly I just eyeballed it and thought I'd got it right. So I made the quilt with 12" blocks, each block made up of 4 smaller 6 1/2" ones joined together. It was 4 blocks across by 5 down. A few days ago I finally backed it and sewed it all together, put on the binding and then proudly put it on the bed, but it was 8" TOO SHORT. My first reaction was to fold it up and put it with the rest of the UFO's, but I decided to bite the bullet and fix it. So I made another 4 x 12" blocks, sewed them into a strip, unpicked the binding along the bottom and partly up the sides, joined on some more batting, added another length of backing fabric, joined the new blocks to the bottom of the quilt, re-sandwiched the bottom and sewed on the binding, and you know what? I'm so glad I did because it looks lovely on the bed, far better than sitting on a pile of UFO's. By the way, haven't attempted quilting yet so to hold it all together I sewed a little pearl button in the centre of each block.

Just a close up of the blocks
