Having removed those medicine cabinets from a bathroom, twice, I can tell you that there is a cross piece at the base of the cabinet on which all those nasty razor blades sit...filthy, rusty, and disgusting but still VERY sharp. Please reconsider your disposal method. A small sharps container from the drug store is less than $5.00 and will hold years worth of sewing sharps safely.
