Thank you everyone. I didn't find it hard to sew, I have always liked tiny things, but I found the idea of doing half hex's around the edge difficult to contemplate, so I just ended up appliqueing it to a plain background. I was also going to put flannel in for batting, but it wouldn't 'drape' at all, so it just had a backing, so I guess that technically it isn't a quilt. BTW, the hex's had quarter inch sides, so are about the size of my little finger nail.
