I thought I would have a change of pace and found this Brother Select-O-Matic type HZ3-B1. I couldn't resist because it looked like it had a tachometer (left of "Brother"). LOL. Found out later that it really is the stitch width indicator.

I haven’t had a chance to take her for a spin yet but I am really excited.

I need to find a downloadable manual as the manual that came with it is flaking so bad I hate to use it much.

If anyone has a source for a manual please let me know.

I learned to sew on that exact model when I was 10 or so....my mom still uses hers regularly....my dad bought it in Japan when he was in the Navy and brought it home to her as a surprise. I have told her that when she is ready to trade I have a good Singer I will put up for this machine....It holds so many good memories for me....I hope that you enjoy yours, they are a dream to work with....
