I think I probably hit the jackpot this past weekend. There were two antique sewing machines advertised on Kijiji with a very poor fuzzy picture of one of them facing backwards. The ad said they were 1917 and 1941 models which I was sure was wrong and she was asking $60 for both. When I got there she said she would take $50 and they were both featherweights! One was a 1948 model and the other a 1952. The owner said they had belonged to her mother and her aunt who had both recently died and as she didn't sew she didn't want them at her house. I felt almost guilty as I loaded them (I did give her the $60 she had asked) and she was thrilled. They both sew well and have all the attachments, instruction books and even the original oil cans and grease tubes. What a deal!!! Keep looking especially at ads from people cleaning out estates.
