After my husband retired from the Navy he entered Ft. Wayne IN Seminary and 4 yrs later was given a "call" to Centerville and Hurley, SD as pastor of 2 churches. His 25 yrs in the ministry was all in South Dakota. After 9 years he took a call to become assistant pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City, after 8 yrs he took a call to a newly formed congregation, Our Redeemer Lutheran, then last August he was forced into retirement by his health. He had his third open heart by pass surgery this past November. And I am afraid we will never get to the ocean again. He grew up in Tacoma, WA joined the Navy got transferred to VA Beach, VA and there I was. My Dad lives in FL and my DH sister, brother and aunt live in Seaside , Or. We are right in the middle.
