Peel, I use all types of colored pencils. Even the cheapos, they make layering the colors on easier, the color is not so intense. The more expensive ones to do the darker and facial shadings. (I love Dick Blick, they carry a lot of colors). I just picked up a new box of pencils at Walmart for 79 cents. I pretty much like anything that will leave a mark!
