I use the same post Chasing Hawk uses for my cats. They don't like the ones with carpet. My girl kitty also likes my sofa, which is very frustrating. They are both indoor cats and would not do well outside at this point. I tried the other types of scratching posts and such and they always seem to prefer the rope type.
