Chocolate Pound Cake recipe, this recipe came from my church cookbook. I have been using recipe 20 some years. The Miss Sara has been organist for First Baptist for over 50 yrs. This cake always come our tasty and moist.
CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE
1 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening (Butter flavor Crico)
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa (Hersheys)
2 tsp vanilla
Cream butter, shortening and sugar in large mixing bowl.
Add eggs one at a time alternately with dry ingredients and milk. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 20 min. at 325 degrees.
I use White Lily or Southern Biscuit Flour. There is a difference in flour from the south. Please let me know if you have any questions. Let me know how our cake turns our.
