I recently visited a small quilt shop in an old house. The owner had a green parrot and a white cockatoo. The parrot quietly spoke a few words. But the cockatoo screeched (loud, too!) especially when we went into another room where the fabric was cut. He screamed, "Come 'eer!" over and over until we went back near his cage. She said he had once set off her security alarm while she was out. When she got back the police had surrounded the shop and told her someone was inside. The cockatoo was screaming, "Come 'eer! Help!", and the policemen thought someone was in real trouble. So now the birds go home with her every night.
