I too, use to make them for my kids but they flew the coup so now I use the 10 little biscuit type and roll them out and put apple filling on them. Moisten with egg white and
fold them over like a turn over to seal, and my DH loves them with
apple, blue berries, chocolate etc. I then Fry them in about a 1" of oil and turn them over till them are golden
brown. I roll the dough out to a 5" circle.
