Yeah, it's funny how some QP think everything should be done without the help of a machine - of ANY kind. I remember a lecture at the historical society several years ago by a local quilt historian, who said that after sewing machines came out, only the wealthy women could machine stitch, so women all pooled their resources to buy a communal machine, so they wouldn't seem poor. Throws another light on this 'everything should be done by hand' stuff! :)
