Another suggestion is to sort them into lights and darks, and do half-square triangles with them, then arrange them into a pattern that you like. Something like this:

Put a light square and a dark square together, (right sides together) draw a line from one corner to the other, then draw a dotted line 1/4 inch from each side of the line. Sew on the dotted lines, then cut apart on the solid line. Voila! You have Half-square triangles!
Now just press them open, and arrange them how you like.
