I have used it for backing and really liked the effect. Just be careful not to stretch it when stitching.
I just quilted the two star quilts and both had fleece on the back, the quilts I did were queen size. When working with fleece on a long arm I was told and did do:is use the stretchest direction for width, they turned out really well and I did use batting 80/20 in-between and the turned out nice and warm for our cold winters.
