Try this website http://www.ehow.com/how_5546025_make...ied-quilt.html for a quilt that is flannel on one side and polar fleece on the other.

I made one but didn't tie it, just too darn hard to pull the ties through both the fleece and flannel, so instead I sewed a horizontal line to join both pieces together, than a vertical line, then an X in each square. I pulled the fleece over the flannel to form the binding.

It was really easy and the fleece and flannel together are like a magnet so you can keep it nice and smooth and flat while you are sewing.
