This is true.

I spend quite a bit of money at Joann's so not trying to bash them, but if you are sceptical of buying from them check other online quilt stores. There are thousands of them out there and you can normally find material that is name brand that is as cheap, sometimes even cheaper than Joann's prices. I buy what feels good/looks good at a price I can afford and not feel bad about, sometimes I find it at Joann's and sometimes I find it online. Either way I am sure you will find something you enjoy sewing!

The closest Joann's to me is about 55 miles one way and the (not so) local quilt store is even farther than that. I feel your pain!
Oh, I've been quite successful in finding many of my fabrics from many other online companies that have, yes, been as low or lower in price as the current sale at Joann's. This was just a curiosity of mine.

Sorry to hear your local shops are so far away, too.
