What a spectacular shot! I have only seen a bald eagle in the wild a handful of times. The closest I got was on my way into work. My daily commute has a short causeway that crosses a revervoir. It freezes over in the winter. One early spring just as the ice was thawing a flock of Canada geese must have flown in to spend the night. The ice at the edge refroze trapping one of the geese about 20 ft away from the causeway and an enterprising bald eagle took full advantage of the opportunity. I saw him sitting on top of his prize having a fine goose breakfast! It was early enough in the morning that I was able to come to a full stop and just gawk at him. What a sight!
