Mine are slightly different from the usual (although everybody seems to add their own twist). The turquoise one was my first, using pre-quilted fabric from Joann's. I used a non-quilted fabric for the lining. Ultimately I added velcro closure at the top -- actually found turquoise velcro!!!

The navy is also made from Joann's pre-quilted fabric, but I modified the pattern to make it a bit smaller (thanks much to other members of this board for the suggestions). I still have to buy a button for it.

In both of those bags I put pockets on both front and back.

The pink bag (not from pre-quilted fabric) is made in the smaller size also and I used Texture Magic on the bottom, quilted with a meandering stitch. I love it! Rather than the button closure, I made a flap (from a tulip bag pattern) and added a magnetic clasp. One outside pocket only, on the back.
