I wouldn't say they stay gooey but they do stay soft if you cover the container once they have somewhat cooled. I have found that these are so yummy right out of the oven even though they are extremely hot!! Also, I have also use Reese's Peanut Butter Cups instead of the chocolate chips and they are scrumptous!! :)
