Oh, your lucky, those old machines stitch like a dream. I rescued one from the trash next door a few years ago. She was moving and didn't want to haul it around. Cleaned it up and gave it to a young neighbor who wanted to learn to sew. No zig zag, but she wanted to sew for her little girl. it works like a charm for that.
