Well you can try both and then see what you think. You can also go to my web site and practice the Boston Block before you tackle the quilt block for the sampler. It isn't as hard as it seems. That is the beauty of my method is that you get difficult looking blocks with easy piecing. You will be surprised how easy it is.
I had a friend who took my class in my home on making a coin purse and she could not quit marveling that she had actually made this little quilt block. She went home and made a bunch more coin purses and gave them as gifts to her family.
