Hi! My name is Danielle. I am 24 years old and I have loved doing crafts ever since I can remember. I especially love to crochet and sew, though it would be hard to see that if you knew me, because I have never completed one crochet project or quilting project for myself. Luckily my closet is filled with lots of quilts my mom has made my husband and I over the years and even an afghan my grandma crocheted many years ago. It's a good thing my mom made so many because lord knows I haven't contributed any blankets to help us keep warm and cozy! Granted I have made countless rag quilts that are baby blankets, kids blankets and even adult blankets, but they have not been for me. I guess I just lack the motivation it takes to complete a project for myself.
I did finish sewing a huge king size rag quilt when I was 19, but here it is 5 years later and I still have not clipped even half of the fringes. When I turned twenty I started a fun Turning 20's quilt and never even got close to finishing it. Then, when I lost motivation on the Turning 20's, I started crocheting a granny square blanket that is... you guessed it... still not complete. But, I am hoping that is all about to change.
I am demanding that I complete a quilt for myself by the end of the year. I know, I know, it seems like a long time, and really it is. But it's getting close to time to be working on Christmas gifts and we may also be moving soon, so I just want to make sure I don't set myself up to be disappointed. So, all that being said... anyone got any suggestions for my first COMPLETED quilt?
