what works for me is to have at least one finger or two fingers off the ruler and on the fabric or cutting table depending how big the fabric is. In other wards you would have at least 2 fingers and the thumb on the ruler, and the pinky and maybe the ring finger off the ruler to steady it. Works for me anyway. Good luck. I now have the Accuquilt GO cutter and love it, cuts perfect every time.
