My first quilt was just to use up scraps, and because my sister made a quilt that I thought was really cool. But the bug didn't bite me that time, and I didn't make another quilt for five years (and didn't plan to ever make another one), and actually remember saying "I just don't care for quilting, I like sewing clothes better."
Then my sister was going to have a baby, and so I determined I was going to make a baby quilt. The quilt bug bit HARD that time.
