My mother didn't tell me jack about anything. I would read her ladies magazines & saw the ads for stuff & finally when I pressured her she told me what it was all about. Never a sex talk, nothing. When I was going to get married she told me to go buy some birthcontrol & a douche bag. Never said what for either. Man it's a wonder I grew up. When my DD came along I made sure she was well informed about everything. She didn't have to learn it on the streets. I was not going to do my kids like my parents did me. Some things from the past might be nice but I love my modern conveiences
