It seemed to be a family tradition. My grandmothers and mother quilted. Not that I needed to carry it on but I do enjoy it. And it seemed homey thing to do. My Grandmother and Mother and my Mom's sister's would get together and set the quilt up on the frame and sit around it quilting and talking. It was nice.
