I have been pretty quiet on this board for the past couple of weeks because I was attempting to make my first "real" quilt for a dear friend's 90th birthday present. I was getting very frustrated because I could see all the flaws and I wasn't sure that it was good enough to give to anyone, let alone for such a special occasion.
Well, I did manage to complete the quilt (Ballerinas by Heidi Pridemore, since my friend loves the ballet and was a ballet teacher for many years) and gave it to her last Sunday. The following day I got a phone call from my friend to tell me that she had taken the quilt around to show all her friends and neighbors, and had had photos taken of herself with the quilt!
Lesson learned - don't sweat the small stuff since others do not see all the flaws that we do ;-)
