My favorite batting and my customers' favorite batting is Hobbs 80/20. It needles very easily, washes wonderfully and adds a nice vintage look to the quilt after washed. Second favorite is Hobbs low-loft poly. The poly washes without "puckers" and does not wrinkle easily so works great in quilts that will be folded and stored for a length of time. I have never had any bearding with either of these battings.
