I have made several quilts with alternating blocks of denim and red or blue (dark blue & light blue) bandana print and they have been very striking looking. Didn't bother quilting them, just tied them. The recipients have greatly enjoyed them, and they were easy projects for me. Your green bandana print would look very attractive with denim.
