I'm pretty good at mitered corners. I use my 12" square ruler & make sure corners are square. Then, when stitching the binding, make sure you don't under or over stitch to the corner. Put a dot at the 1/4" from the corner if you have to. When you turn a corner, lift the presser foot & fold the binding so that it is exactly even with top edge & when you start stitching the next side, make sure your needle is in the same place as where you stopped on last side.
