I got into miniatures over 20 yrs ago when I decided to make myself a billfold. I challenged myself to see how small I could go. I sold several bilfolds at the time to coworkers and I made myself several differant purses over that time frame.

Here are a few bits and pieces I have left from when I used to do these by hand.
The blocks in these first two are 1/8" finished. I used a 3/4" square and sewed by hand. Each set of two squares is sewn together with 3 stitches.
The pink and black is 2" by 3 1/2" long
The black and burgandy is 2" by 2 1/2" long
these are left overs from some bilfolds I was working on at the time.
I made a quilt for the front of the billfold and the unfinished top was 5" with borders. Then I made a 3" top for a pocket on the back side.

The bear's paw is 3" square. The claws are 5/8" finished. I have made this block as small as 1 1/2".

Sorry the purses were well used and have been retired now.

This is one of my clutch purses I made for myself. The quilt blocks are 1 1/2" finished The purse is about 6" by 4 1/2"

This is the front of another purse I made for myself. The quilt blocks are again 1 1/2". The purse is about 5 to 6" square
