Serendipity: a happy accident. In quilting, I have seen kaliedoscope quilts called serendipity quilts because you never know what you're going to get! That's where you stack your fabric 6-8 high, aligning the print, then cut a wedge (Marti Michell's Kaleido ruler is the best) and sew all eight fabrics together from that stack.
