I had the pvc pipe setup in my old space before I had my basement finished into a studio. I had my builder custom make me two tables, both on casters; one is formica topped with my large cutting mat on. The other is 60x80 and padded with wool and then ironing board fabric stapled on for quilts and other large projects. The tables have a file cabinet at each corner for holding fabric and other supplies. My tables are 33", perfect for my height. I even used the pvc pipe to make my old bunk bed into a trundle bed. Now I can slide one mattress & its base under the other when I don't need it. Not pretty but I haven't heard any guests complain.
