I have an old stainless steel surgical instrument table. And it is 36 inches. It is just the right size for me . I am 5'4". They were going to trash it when two hospital's merged. It had one leg that had been welded. I love it . It has wheels and that makes it easy to move. It also has a second shelf, which I have a basket with current project in it and where I keep my safety pins and clips for binding. I am sure there is a way to rise it and make it safe. Hope your back gets to feeling better. Nothing worst than a backache or sore feet.
