Hi,

It can be done by hand. I did it on a quilt our guild made for a member who was dying of cancer. The quilt we were duplicating had been stippled by machine. Since I do not machine quilt at that level I did it by hand. It is merely quilting very closely in a random pattern. The main objective is not to have the quilting lines cross one another. It was a lot of work and I am glad that the item was crib size. It would have taken me at least 6 months had it been an adult bed size.
