I do pp. I use two methods to quilt. My favorite is the rotary cutting method and then pp if the pattern looks too fiddly. I don't like templates at all and never have lol...but have to use one now and then if there is no other way.
There are some quilts that you can use the acrylic templates, like the drunkards path, winner's circle and I don't mind those.
