Cordelia,
You do wonderful work - I found another method for stained-glass windows. The video is on quilterstv.com. One would actually use black as the background and cut out the pieces and piece it with a fusible webbing. Making sure the black space left showing is about 1/4 of an inch - one can place the whole thing on a light box or up to a window. She does not show any machine appliqueing but I think I would do that. Maybe she does and just didn't show it. I forget the name of the video but you could go on there and look for it. Beautuful work on your part as it it is though.
