I was told when I purchased my sewing machine (Bernina) to never use C&C thread but to always use all cotton thread if you are sewing all cotton fabric, makes sense to me. It fuzzes up a great deal because it is made with shorter threads in the process of making it. From some of my previous sewing habits I had a great deal of cotton/polyester thread on hand. I use it to make those fabric bowels(using my old Singer) and did a lot of satin stitching. It was a good way to use it up. Now I use only Aurifil in my machine. I like it and even with the cost it does have 1300 yards of thread on a spool and does come in different weights. For hand quilting I use only a thread that states it is for hand quilting, and I have used Gutermans along with Americana and YLI which are both 100% glazed quilting threads.
