First let me say, your quilt is wonderful as it is. Since you asked for options, I will tell you what I would do different.
The center panel with the bear in the center. The light tan in the panels on either side of the bear panel...I would make the ones closest to the bear panel green. It would give the impression the panel extended into that area. The outside ones I would leave tan.
I hope you can make sense of what I am saying! I also agree with turning the leaves to face each other.
