I agree with nursie76...you may get even more frustrated than when tying if you don't have a walking foot (the voice of experience here!). You mention you have a quilting foot, I am guessing it is the darning foot attachment, where you drop the feed dogs and use it to Free Motion Quilt. FMQ may be your best option...
